This master bathroom design and remodel is part of a multiple room renovation for a home in the Terrace Park neighborhood of Windsor, Wis. Our clients, a Gen-X family with teenage kids, requested a new, more functional design for the main level master bath. The existing space had a poor layout with inferior quality, an acrylic shower squeezed into a recessed nook, and a bulky jetted whirlpool tub. The remodel of this master bath resulted in a palatial-sized bathroom suite with an elegant walk-in shower and a luxurious freestanding soaking tub, in a room that is bright and filled with natural light.

Master Bathroom Suite Floor Plan

The floor plan for this master bathroom suite was designed to provide ample room for a soaking tub placed in a corner surrounded by windows. It was also laid out to include a vast walk-in shower and walk-in closet without feeling constricted. The glass-walled shower helps the space to feel large despite reallocating fifteen square feet to the closet. The shower boasts beautiful 3’ X 6” subway tile and a mosaic tile floor. The original bathroom had direct, unimpeded access the bedroom with no door at all. This caused a variety of livability issues, so a pocket door was added that separates the sleeping quarters from the bath. This inclusion reduces noise and allows the husband and wife to wake in the morning at different times and access all they need from the walk-in closet. The finishes in this master bathroom are beautiful and transform the look and feel of the space from dated and conventional to elegant and serene.
