This Home Was Featured In The 2013 Madison Area Builders Association Parade of Homes

Our empty nester clients requested an open floor plan that allows them to mature without the need for future renovations. In keeping with this design strategy, amenities like walk-in closets, curbless showers, and a master bedroom on the same floor as the living space means they can remain in their home forever. This home has every luxury. The kitchen has a Wolf cooktop and Sub-Zero refrigerator, multicolored tile backsplash, an expansive kitchen island built-in two-person banquet table, and a walk-in pantry with a light tunnel.

See Through Fireplace

The gas fireplace has a stone facade and is used as a divider between the dining room and living room. Each side of the fireplace has a different lighting design. The side facing the dining room has spotlights that brings out the texture of the stone. The lighting on the living room side highlights the mantle.

I was thrilled to create this empty-nest home for Tim and Sue. They had built another Parade home about 15 years before, and our goal was to take inspiration from the best of the Prairie-style elements of that larger family home, and bring them into a new home that fit their empty nest lifestyle. We were able to do this without giving up the gourmet kitchen and contemporary design elements that they loved, in a home that is perfectly sized for their future.
