Recognized as a National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), Contractor of the Year (CotY) award-winner.

These clients enjoy cooking and had a number of design items on their wish list. They needed a well-organized system, more storage, better lighting, and a more open feel. We were able to accomplish everything on their list, even under a tight budget, by making smart design choices and reusing materials when possible.

We were asked to design an organized, efficient, modern-looking kitchen around the color blue. The new design removed an “L” shaped counter that separated the dining room from the kitchen. The new cabinets allowed for more light while providing the needed storage and eliminating wasted space. Our design provided a large number of drawers and a pantry space and a double door that opens into the kitchen. Energy-efficient LED strip lighting was used under all the cabinets.

Shaker Style Cabinets

The cabinetry is a painted white shaker style with crown moulding and bar style brushed stainless steel drawer pulls. Appliances include a Jenn-Air slide-in electric downdraft range with a convection oven, a French door LG refrigerator and the over the range microwave is by GE. An under mounted sink with a laminate countertop gave the kitchen an updated look without the expense of granite or other solid surface tops.

It was fun to take the inspiration of the blue paint color that Mike & Renee loved so much. The cobalt blue glass backsplash tile was the perfect splurge, made possible by our careful re-use of the tile floor. It all fits beautifully!
