We recently completed a project for our clients, Anders and Lauren. They are a professional couple living in Oregon, Wisconsin, and they have a flair for interior design. They contacted us to create a plan to refresh the main living areas in their home. The project included a budget-friendly kitchen update and a living room remodel for the lower-level family room space that features modern interior design elements.

Working With The Home's Existing Elements

They had already done a few updates prior to our living room remodel, including replacing the dated carpet with new LVP flooring, applying a unique textured wallpaper on the exposure wall, and painting the media wall an eclectic and striking navy blue. They felt the space needed some contrast and appeal. The simple drywall finished ledge and white walls seemed to wash out the interest in the room.

A Modern, Well Designed Living Room Remodel

Lauren is very intentional with her interior design and decorations. Our goal was to enhance her vision without competing with her interior design choices in any way. Our designer's solution was simple, elegant, and beautiful. We applied a wainscot and installed a stained wood ledge board which took the room to the design level desired by the homeowners.

Simple Elements = Elegant Results

From the easy-on-the-eyes pattern of the wainscot to the contrast between the Sherwin Williams Privileged Green, rich brown stain and flooring, and the clean white walls, this refresh was a complete success! The result? Anders and Lauren's vision for their home's main living areas are complete! We successfully refreshed the lower-level family room by creating a simple and stunning design feature.
